Scanning a Drive
Before you start data recovery or search for files and folders, drive must be
scanned.
There are two types of drive scan: QuickScan and SuperScan
-
QuickScan is fast and basic scan type. Most of
deleted files and folders would be found.
-
SuperScan is much slower and it processes whole drive's
surface detecting ALL possible data being deleted.
To perform drive scan run Active@ File Recovery and do one of the
following:
-
Click the drive. QuickScan for the drive will start
automatically.
-
Click the drive then click the QuickScan toolbar button
or select QuickScan from the context menu to run QuickScan
explicitly, for example, to re-scan the drive being scanned previously.
-
If after QuickScan you did not find your files, try SuperScan
by clicking SuperScan toolbar button
or selecting SuperScan from the context menu. This type of
scan takes much more time to be completed but usually gives better results.
-
To stop (cancel) scanning process, click the Stop toolbar
button

After completion of drive scan you can try to locate your files and
folders either manually (going through the folders tree) or automatically
(using
Search mode).
